Located in the capital of Delaware, Dover Downs is one of the three sportsbooks in the First State. There is also a casino, horse racing track, restaurants and bars, a hotel and spa, and other forms of entertainment at the venue.
Dover Downs opened up in June 2018 when Delaware fully legalized sports betting. In fact, Governor John Carney placed the state’s first legal single-game wager on the Phillies at Dover Downs on June 5th. He got Delaware off to a hot start, winning his moneyline bet at 2/1 odds, doubling his money.
Dover Down’s sportsbook took in $12 million in bets in 2020. Like Delaware Park and Harrington Raceway & Casino, all sports betting is overseen by the Delaware Lottery—the same organization that offers football parlay cards throughout the state
